Digital signage is more than just flashy advertising; digital signage has many uses from providing information to customers to providing vital work related information to employees.

Its usefulness is represented by the fact that signage systems using LCD or plasma screens are being implemented in many areas and in different extremes. They are found in many places in industry, among the dirt, grease and oil but they are often protected by LCD enclosures.

These enclosures are not only good at protecting the LCD from the environment but also they can protect the environment from the LCD. Digital signage is being implemented in hospitals, clinics, food manufacturing facilities, clean rooms and even operating theaters.

Stainless steel is the ideal medium for these type of areas as it can be washed down, disinfected, has natural anti-bacterial properties (it offers no crevices for bacteria to linger) and stainless steel is also non corrosive.

To ensure the enclosed device is adequately protected, LCD enclosures are often built to international rating standards. The most common are the European IP rating and the US NEMA standard.

For waterproof protection the NEMA 4 (and NEMA 4x) standard and the IP65 rating ensure that the enclosure will be able to withstand a wash down from powerful water jets with no worry about the water seeping into  the enclosure and damaging the device.

A waterproof stainless steel LCD enclosure is the ideal solution ideal for providing information in areas where water is not only liberally used but also where cleanliness and contamination are often a factor.
